Call for Participants to Pilot LibParlor Online Learning [Application Now Closed]

Interested in being a test user for the LibParlor Online Learning curriculum?

We are seeking 25 participants from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives to pilot the LibParlor Online Learning curriculum. 

We are hoping to collect perspectives from a variety of library workers, including but not limited to academic faculty, administrative faculty, classified staff, and professional staff. Current MLIS students are also encouraged to apply.

We would like to include people who work in tribal colleges, community colleges, 4 year research institutions, 4 year liberal arts institutions, and as instructors in MLIS programs. 

No prior research experience is required. Our primary audience for the finalized curriculum are LISLibrary and Information Science An interdisciplinary field that examines how physical and digital information is organized, accessed, collected, managed, disseminated and used, particularly in library settings. workers who are interested and invested in learning how to do research, and so we would like to hear from folks who are new to research about their experience with the curriculum. 

We also welcome the perspective of experts in data managementData management The ways a researcher collects, organizes, stores, and accesses data they collect for research. Creating a data management plan allows a researcher to know what data they will be collecting and how they will store and organize it during the research project., scholarly communicationsScholarly communications The ecosystem that exists where research and other kinds of scholarly information is created, evaluated, disseminated, and preserved for the scholarly community to use now and in the future. , theoretical research, empirical research, and online education to provide feedback on curriculum content. 

Commitment 

Pilot participants will complete the entire LPOL curriculum between February 19-April 19, 2024 and offer feedback through Google Forms. We anticipate completing the curriculum will take between 20 and 40 hours to complete. We anticipate feedback will take an additional 5 hours or so. The curriculum is asynchronous and can be done at your own pace.

Compensation

Pilot participants will receive a $500 stipend for their feedback on the complete curriculum. Payment will begin processing after the pilot concludes.
