The Librarian Parlor (aka LibParlor) is recruiting new Editorial Team members! LibParlor is a space for conversing, sharing expertise, and asking questions about the process of developing, pursuing, and publishing library research. Our mission is driven by demystifying the research process, democratizing the often hidden knowledge about engaging in LISLibrary and Information Science An interdisciplinary field that examines how physical and digital information is organized, accessed, collected, managed, disseminated and used, particularly in library settings. research, and empowering early-career and marginalized library scholars in an effort to strengthen the LIS research community and the field.
Who we’re looking for: Librarians interested in shaping a space for sharing knowledge, continuing education, and development of LIS researchers from all levels of experience. You don’t need to be an expert researcher yourself! This is a great opportunity especially for early-career librarians and those starting on the tenure-track needing national service commitment, and to learn and grow as you help develop LibParlor.
Responsibilities and commitment: The LibParlor Editorial Team is charged with the oversight of LibParlor and LibParlor Online Learning. Responsibilities include maintenance of LibParlor platforms, community engagement, editorial direction, content creation, leadership recruitment, and budget management. Applications are open to fill the role of Chair (or two Co-Chairs), Outreach and Promotion Lead, and Curriculum Lead.
