Lesson 1: Working With Editors and Peer Reviewers

In this lesson, you’ll learn more about the roles of the peer reviewer and the editor, how their processes work, and how to communicate with them effectively about your manuscript.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose and processes of peer review, including both strengths and criticisms
  • Explain the editorial process from submission through decision-making
  • Evaluate and respond to reviewer feedback effectively
  • Identify the submission process, including recognizing when your work is “finished” enough
