It is important to consider what you want to accomplish in your personal and professional life and how that research can fit into those aspirations. If you completed Course 1, Lesson 1: Developing An Identity As a Researcher, you had the opportunity to reflect on your researcher identity and craft your researcher identity statement. Now is a great time to consider how your researcher identify fits into your career more broadly.

In this lesson, you will explore how your researcher identity relates to your broader goals, reflect on your short- and long-term career goals, and begin brainstorming specific research questions you may consider pursuing in the near future.
