This lesson will explain research impactResearch impact A way to describe and measure the ways in which research causes some sort of positive impact on a community. Research impact can be measured through quantitative or qualitative data.   and the types of evidence and measures that comprise it.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Define research impact and apply traditional scholarly impact metrics to a publication portfolio
  • Acknowledge how metrics, measures, and other evidence help describe and contextualize impact
  • Connect researcher publication decisions and research goals to research impact metrics and narratives
