4.4: Introduction

IntroductionIntroduction The start of a research article providing background information and an overview of the research presented in the article.

Self-management is essential in completing any research and writing project. To complete your project, you’ll need to plan your time realistically and find ways to remain motivated and focused. There is no one best way to manage time, and what works for you may change depending on the circumstances surrounding the project you’re working on. You may need to employ different methods and tools depending on whether you are working alone or with others, the length of the final piece of writing, your current state of mind, and whether you have dedicated time for the project in your work or personal life. The following suggestions, tools, and ideas may prove useful in one project and then require adjustment for your next project as your circumstances evolve. Ultimately, writing is a process, and this lesson will offer a few tips to help you determine what is most useful for you.

It is worth taking the time to create a plan that feels realistic for completing your research and writing. It is equally important, however, to regularly review your progress to assess whether you need to implement new strategies or adjust your plans to complete your project.
